Kidz ROK
The Kidz ROK room is where we hold our children's worship services at ROC. When I arrived, the stage
area was at the far end of a room that is 120 long by 30 feet wide! There were ten rows of chairs, which caused
many of the kids to be far removed from what was taking place. That being the case, I decided to change the orientation
of the room.

As the layout was changing, I also designed and built a themed backdrop with the help of Trena's grandpa.
He did all of the painting! The new set is made of six painted sections, two Kidz ROK signs, a large screen, a TV, and a puppet
stage.

A backstage area was created, which is accessible from center stage as well as from both sides.
Also, stage lighting was added in order to bring attention and focus to the front of the room.

A change was made from large green chairs to smaller black chairs. This looks very sharp, as the chairs
match the black stage and curtains.

Since we rotated the stage, kids are no farther than five or six rows removed and we fit
just as many chairs as before.

The Wheel
"The Wheel" is a sophisticated piece of machinery that spins on a central point. I designed and built
it for a special "Game Show Sunday", and it has had much use in our Kidz ROK review games. There are several
spaces to land on, with points ranging from 5 to 75. There are two "Bank" spaces and one spot to "Lose Your Turn". "The
Wheel" is about four and a half feet wide and about five and a half feet tall.

The Barn
Here are some pictures of the barn I made as a kids' church set for the Church In Uptown. My
parents gave me a set of tools for Christmas and I wanted an excuse to use them, so I came up with this original contraption
that I call "The Barn".

"The Barn" is a portable set that is seven and a half feet high in the middle, and four feet high on
the outside edges. The door in the middle opens back and is five feet high and about three feet wide.

There are three windows that open for use of a puppet or whatever else you might be able to think of.
The one in the middle section above the door is a foot and a half wide and a foot tall and opens to the front, while the other
two are only a foot by a foot and open toward the back.

For portability, this barn is a tri-fold design. The section on the left folds around back and the
section on the right folds around front so it can fit flat against a wall, or easily fit in a trailer as is the
case at the Church In Uptown.
Bingo the Clown

Bingo is an august clown that likes to have fun. He now has
a different hair style than the one he originally had in this picture which is easier to keep up. His rather large feet
and lanky appendages cause him to be a bit clumsy at times, which usually brings a laugh or two. His stylish clothing
was bought and/or made by his manager, Bryan Boone. This is the first, and currently only installment of the Boone
Clothing Line.
